Comes with a PDF of the artwork so you can create your very own tactile piece of collectable ephemera. Careful with the scalpel when trimming out the cover. I will not be held responsible for any injuries incurred.
The album from which has stemmed all things Distant Bombs. I can't quite recall how the name popped into my head, but I've always like the juxtaposition of words or phrases that describe something that should be horrid in a soft and comforting fashion. Soon after this I issued an album called Desolation Beauty Violence. Same deal really.
Originally this was a limited edition CDr released on Apoplexy in 2002, before it was reissued on Last Visible Dog in late 2004 as the first Peter Wright commercially pressed CD release - 500 of them out there somewhere, maybe you have one already.
Arguably the most realised of the early PW recordings, certainly in the sense that the recordings still hold water to these jaded ears after all this time. Recorded in our rented seaside villa in Sumner, on the eastern coastal outskirts of Christchurch, often on weekends when the endless parade of boy racers streamed up and down the road nearby. If you listen carefully the sound of distant throbbing of supercharged engines leaks through in the quieter moments. Subtle vibrations indeed.
After several years out of print it's available again in unlimited numbers with new cover artwork included in the download file so you can start a box set. Nostalgia is currently hip - get a piece while you can.
